Someone sent you an Insightful link. Here’s what to expect.
A company wants to understand your experience through a short conversation rather than a form. This page explains how it works and what happens to what you say.
What is this?
A company you have dealt with wants to hear about your experience. Instead of a survey, they are using Insightful to have a short conversation with you. An AI interviewer asks a question, listens to your answer, and follows up on what you said.
Is it a real person?
No. The interviewer is an AI, working from a plan the company wrote. It is there to understand what you mean, not to sell you anything. Your answers are read by real people on the company’s research team afterwards.
Do I have to talk out loud?
Only if you want to. Some interviews start in voice, but you can switch to typing at any moment using the Text / Voice control at the bottom of the page. You can also replay a question, or ask for it to be put another way.
How long will it take?
The welcome page tells you before you start, usually four to seven minutes. The interviewer ends the conversation itself once it has what it needs; you can also stop at any time.
Is it anonymous?
If the company has turned on anonymous responses, you appear in their results as a participant number (P01, P02 and so on) and nothing you say is tied to your name. The welcome page says whether this is the case for your interview.
What happens to my answers?
They go to the company that sent you the link, along with a short summary. Insightful does not sell or share them with anyone else. If you want your answers removed, contact the company that invited you, or email us with the link you were sent.
Something isn’t working
If the microphone is blocked, your browser will say so and you can switch to typing. If the page won’t load, try opening the link in a different browser. Still stuck? Email support with the link you were sent.
