- Listen deeply. A real conversation, not a form.
- Ask why. Follow-ups when an answer is thin.
- Act on it. Insights and customer attributes from every conversation.
Example of a voice interview. The interviewer asks how the team hears from customers, rephrases the question, listens to the answer, and asks a follow-up. Replay and rephrase are available on each question.
Surveys vs. conversationsA form gets you an answer. A conversation gets you the reason.
Pick a number, choose from a list. Anything that doesn’t fit the boxes is lost.
Insightful asks in plain language and follows up wherever an answer is thin.
Same customer, same question. “Too expensive” turned out to mean “we weren’t using it”, and only one of those tells you what to fix.

How is this different from a survey?
A survey can only record the answers you thought to offer. Insightful has a real conversation: it asks open questions, listens to the answer and follows up when something is thin, so you learn the reason behind the response, not just the response.
Who takes part?
Your own customers or users. You share the link by email, in your product, or as a QR code. They do not need an account. Insightful Chat does not recruit or supply participants.
Do participants need an account or an app?
No. They open your link on any phone or computer and start talking or typing. You can make responses anonymous, so participants appear in your results as P01, P02 and so on.
Voice or text: which should I use?
You choose the mode for each study. In a voice study, participants talk with the interviewer out loud and can switch to typing at any time. They can also replay a question or ask for it to be rephrased.
Can I control what the interviewer asks?
Yes. Insightful drafts an interview plan from your brief: topics, stimuli to show and structured questions. You can edit, reorder and pin any of it. Must-cover items are always asked; the rest are explored only if the conversation goes there.
What do I get at the end?
For every conversation: a summary, a quality flag, key quotes linked to the transcript, themes and a value for each attribute you defined. Across the study: a research summary, top findings, themes by segment, representative quotes, and the ability to ask any question across every transcript. Attributes export to CSV.
How long does an interview take?
You pick a target length: short (about 4 minutes), standard (about 7) or deep (12 or more). The interviewer wraps up on its own once it has what it needs.
